Sashiko—literally “little stabs”—is a form of reinforcement stitching that originated as a practical technique for mending and strengthening worn fabric. Over time, the running stitch patterns became decorative in their own right, creating geometric fields of texture across cloth.

This furoshiki is stitched entirely by hand in sashiko, producing a surface that is as tactile as it is visual. The stitching adds structure and dimension to the cotton, making the cloth more durable while giving it a distinctive, handworked character.

A versatile textile that works as a wrapping cloth, table covering, or wall hanging.
