Without a shared language, RongRong and inri built a relationship by sending each other photographs. Love Songs traces that exchange through the pictures themselves and the letters that survive from it. Fragments of Chinese, Japanese and English are written around the edges of the images Ñ messages to each other, and at the same time something closer to a vow made to oneself, to reach across language and borders.
