Pillow 16 x 12" – Double-Face Stripe

Handcrafted from vintage cotton dating to the early 1900s, this cushion features classic Japanese stripes known as shima. A different stripe pattern on each side makes the pillow fully reversible. Shima textiles gained wide popularity during the Edo period, when sumptuary laws restricted conspicuous display — stripes became a form of understated style, a way to express taste within restraint.
