Naoya Hatakeyama Cloven Landscape

Published from the exhibition of the same name at Sendai Mediatheque, 2016Ð17. The book splits in two: 124 pages of photographs and 124 pages of text, opening from the middle. The photographs draw on thirty years of work, including the early series Contour Lines, seldom-shown pieces, contact sheets, and Hatakeyama's own images of the installation. The text section collects conversations held during the run with Mikiro Sasaki, Mikio Igarashi and Lieko Shiga, and an essay by Takahiro Nishimura.
