Linda Iha Design of Okinawa

Iha's first photobook, published in conjunction with her solo exhibition Design of Okinawa at MISA SHIN GALLERY (2026). The title works in two senses at once Ñ Okinawa as something designed, and the design of Okinawa Ñ and reaches past colour, form and iconography to the relationships, contradictions, borders and memory behind them. It includes the series previously shown as Sleep in Contradiction, in which Iha tore up American music magazines she had grown up with, buried the fragments in sand and photographed them.
