Kasuri is the Japanese tradition of ikat weaving, in which yarns are resist-dyed before being set on the loom, creating geometric patterns with a characteristic soft-edged quality. Rooted in centuries of rural textile craft, kasuri was historically woven for everyday use — kimonos, futon covers, and household cloth — making each piece a record of daily life and regional artistry. This pillow preserves the selvedge of the original yardage, a quiet detail that speaks to the fabric's handwoven origin.
