A vintage furoshiki printed with tachibana (wild orange) and karakusa (arabesque) motifs—two patterns with deep roots in Japanese decorative tradition. Tachibana, an evergreen citrus, has long symbolized longevity and permanence.
Hand-stitched with sashiko thread and dyed in indigo, this cloth carries the visual language of its era: bold, graphic, and made to be used. Furoshiki like this served as everything from a wrapping cloth to a makeshift bag, adapting to whatever the day required.
Approximately 100 years old. Due to the nature of vintage fabric, minor fades, wear, or patina may be present.
