Hiromi Furusato: TIDE

TIDE brings together a decade of photographic work by Hiromi Furusato, from 2015 to the present. Centered on a woman living in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Furusato photographs the communities surrounding her subject, unfolding intimate moments and the landscapes that hold them. What emerges quietly is a lineage of women across generations — a bond that stands as an axis of life. Grandmothers, mothers, daughters, friends, and neighbors: the gazes and gestures passed from one to another carry a shared sense of being, one that resonates and collides with the fragile sensation each of us holds within.
